MEET JULIE
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
I grew up in the North Dekalb area, attending Vanderlyn Elementary School and Peachtree Junior High, before attending high school at Pace Academy in Atlanta, where I have always tried to fulfill the school motto of: "The Courage to Strive For Excellence".
I am a proud Georgia Bulldog (Go Dawgs!), and attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. While in Law School, I received the Florida Bar's "Outstanding Local Government Law School Student Award".
I am very proud to have worked as a criminal defense attorney for over 10 years, including 9 years in the Fulton County State and Magistrate Court Public Defender's Office and as a Certified Legal Intern in the St. John's County (Florida) State Attorney's Office. Before attending law school, I had the distinct pleasure of working for the Clerk's Office of the Georgia House of Representatives.
After my years in the Public Defender's Office, I went to work for my family in our business, an Early Learning Center called Dunwoody Prep. My family's business has been a landmark in Dunwoody Village since 1988, and I am very proud to bring our school into the second generation.
As a small business owner I am very attuned to the issues facing our businesses and our families today. During these uncertain times everyone must work together to preserve our businesses and save jobs. Currently I manage a staff of over 40 people. As a small business owner I do everything... I am responsible for paying the bills and balancing the accounts, employment decisions, overseeing construction and maintenance projects, making lunch and snacks when the chef is sick, and since we're a school - tending booboos when necessary!
Our families need confidence that their children can safely attend schools and get the education they need to survive in our fast paced economy.
